FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to quantum technologies and quantum computing and can be used to create quantum logic elements. Method of switching the state of a polariton condensate formed in the form of a ring consists in changing the quantum state by creating an optical coherent potential with a given sign of chirality, which is formed by illumination with a non-resonant laser pulse with energy exceeding the width of the forbidden zone of the excited semiconductor.
EFFECT: optical control of polariton condensate state and possibility of its switching.
