FIELD: radar.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in radar stations for detecting and tracking targets. In the disclosed method, three angular sensors are used, antenna patterns of which are deployed relative to the reference direction (RD) in space so that the axes of these antenna patterns pass through the vertices of the enveloping reference direction triangle, angular dimensions of which and parameters of the antenna patterns of the sensors are selected based on the condition of maximizing the signal-to-noise ratio of the received signals and providing the required zone of unambiguous measurement of coordinates, measuring amplitude of signals at the output of sensors and solving a system of three equations of target position lines by corresponding antenna pattern relative to (α, β)—desired angular coordinates of target relative to reference direction and F—coefficient of proportionality, solution of which is determination of angular coordinates of the point of intersection of these lines of target position.

EFFECT: reducing the number of required receiving antenna patterns of amplitude sensors, eliminating the requirement for equality of parameters of these receiving antenna patterns and enlarging the working area of direction-finding.
