FIELD: coke industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of dry quenching of coke, and can be used to reduce loss of coke and corresponding increase in output of the main energy resource used in blast-furnace production. Method is carried out by feeding in a closed cycle a circulating gas with temperature of 150–180 °C into a quenching chamber through layers of incandescent coke, heating of circulating gas from incandescent coke to temperature of 700–800 °C, gas cleaning in dust separator, gas cooling to 150–180 °C in waste heat boiler, final gas cleaning in dust-collecting cyclone, discharge of excess gas. After the excess gas is released, the remaining gas is mixed with a process gas with a nitrogen content of not less than 98%, continuously supplied from an oxygen station, in the volume in which the circulating gas was discharged, providing nitrogen content in the circulating gas of not less than 92 %.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of the method of dry coke quenching, increased safety and increased output of quality coke.
