FIELD: optical instrument making.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical instrument making and can be used in location equipment for reflection of radiation in the optical range in the reverse direction. Retroreflector system consists of reflectors made of an optically transparent material, on the side surfaces of which a reflecting coating is applied, the vertices of the reflectors converge at one point, reflectors are made in the form of cones inscribed in an imaginary sphere so that tops of the cones of the reflectors are connected in the centre of the imaginary sphere, thus creating the form of a conical rosette having from two to six cones.
EFFECT: increased equivalent area of scattering, reduced losses of reflected energy at change of angle of incidence of light beams, simplification of manufacturing technology and expansion of scope of application of retroreflector system.
