FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and concerns the design of a coupling unit for connecting several sections of a freight railway car to each other. Railway coupling device comprises coupling housing 1 with head part 2 and with shank 3 connected to yoke 4 by vertical axis 5. Vertical axis passes through upper flange 6 of the yoke, vertical hole 7 of the shank and lower flange 8 of the yoke. Rear wall 9 of the shank has outer 10 and inner 11 curved surfaces made along arcs in vertical and horizontal directions. Outer surface of the back wall of the shank is in contact with thrust plate 12. Inner surface of the back wall of the shank is in contact with insert 14 by means of contact surface 13, at the same time the insert is installed inside the vertical hole of the shank and by the opposite side contacts the vertical axis. Inside the vertical hole of the shank there is also insert 15 directed towards the head part of the coupling housing, in contact with the vertical axis, and opposite surface 16 – with curvilinear inner surface 17 of vertical hole of shank 3, directed towards head part of coupling housing and formed by arcs in vertical and horizontal directions.
EFFECT: operational reliability of the coupling device is increased, and labour costs during the manufacture and repair of sectional freight cars are reduced.
