FIELD: gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in glycol recovery plants. Disclosed is a method of reducing physical and chemical properties of a glycol solution by removing dissolved inorganic salts, mechanical impurities, heavy hydrocarbons, decomposition, oxidation and resinification products. This method involves heating the solution in a recuperative heat exchanger, feeding heated glycol into the stripper, removing the glycol from the stripper, heating it in the evaporator, removal from the top of the column of vapors with subsequent cooling and condensation, creation of rarefaction by pumping of non-condensed vapors with a vacuum pump. Before feeding into the heat exchanger, the substandard glycol solution is saturated with water and/or reflux liquid and the heated glycol is fed into the desorber above the semi-blind plate. Regeneration of glycol solution is carried out in stripper with extraction of glycol reduced to standard values from still part of apparatus, and the saturated glycol solution flowing from the semi-blind tray is heated in an evaporator to a temperature which is 1...3 °C below the glycol decomposition temperature. Vacuum is created in the system reflux tank—stripper—evaporator.
EFFECT: removal of contaminants from substandard glycol, which helps to reduce corrosion of equipment, prevent formation of solid and high-viscosity deposits, providing initial drying capacity of glycol, excluding recycling of a part of substandard glycol.
