FIELD: lighting.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to LED lighting devices and can be used in light sources for street, industrial, domestic and architectural design lighting. LED lighting fixture includes a ballast and a LED cluster. One output of the ballast is connected to one of the poles of the power supply, and the other output of the ballast is connected to one of the outputs of the LED cluster. Second output of the LED cluster is connected to a power supply. LEDs on both outputs of the LED cluster are connected to each other by different polarities, forming a diode rectifier bridge, the load of which can include at least one chain of LEDs. Device can contain two parallel chains of light-emitting diodes or more than two groups of parallel chains of light-emitting diodes. Also disclosed is a method of operating a light-emitting diode lighting device.

EFFECT: high efficiency of the LED light device due to reduction of losses for rectification of electric current required to power LEDs, with simultaneous simplicity of the technical solution.
