FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the technology of purifying hydrocarbons, specifically to a method of producing a purified benzene composition from a stream of crude hydrocarbons, containing at least 10 vol.% of benzene, such as, for example, C6-fraction or C6-C8-fraction of gasoline FCC or light oil of coke ovens (COLO). Method includes steps a)–d). At step a), a stream of crude hydrocarbons and an additional stream containing benzene recycled at step d) are subjected to solvent extraction to obtain a benzene-rich aromatic stream and a benzene-depleted non-aromatic stream. At step b), the aromatic stream obtained at step a) is hydrodesulphurised to obtain a desulphurised aromatic stream. At step c), the desulphurised aromatic stream obtained at step b) is distilled to obtain a stream of purified benzene and an additional stream containing benzene, wherein the additional stream containing benzene and together with it, at least one of compounds selected from cyclohexane, methylcyclopentane, 2,3-dimethylpentane or 2,4-dimethylpentane. Additional flow has concentration of benzene, starting from azeotropic concentration of benzene in azeotrope with these compounds and up to 100 wt.%. At step d), the additional stream obtained at step c) is partially recycled to step a).

EFFECT: providing a method for producing a benzene composition of high purity from a stream of crude hydrocarbons containing benzene.
