FIELD: metal forming.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and can be used in production of shells by isothermal stamping. Matrix assembly matrix and punch with glass shaped working end face are used. Matrix assembly is installed in die with working chamber, into which glass scrap is filled. Mass of the glass scrap is determined depending on its density and volume of the cavity of the finished shell. Die is heated to temperature of glass scrap transition into viscous-liquid state, which is higher than temperature of stamping. Punch with shaped projections acts on viscous-liquid medium, by means of which hydrostatic action on matrix is performed. Die is cooled to transition of viscous-liquid medium into solid phase and formation of glass working end of punch. Matrix assembly with fixed workpiece is installed in die and heated to stamping temperature. Workpiece is exposed to a punch with a glass working end.
EFFECT: obtaining a shell from a thin-sheet workpiece.
