FIELD: antenna equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to short-wavelength range antenna equipment and is used to adjust active phased antenna arrays (APAA) with formation of a beam pattern maximum in the required direction, taking into account the beam characteristics of the base radiator used in the APAA. Disclosed is a method of tuning antenna arrays of the SW-range, associated with determining phase distribution ΔΨ between the APAA elements, according to the invention, the phase distribution is determined experimentally by evaluating the field strength generated by the APAA and its elements at the boundary of the far and near zones, subsequent selection of phase distribution of currents to achieve maximum values of APAA field strength in required direction relative to field strengths, formed by single elements in conditions of APAA arrangement on real object with diagram-distorting factors – presence of structures, overhead feeder lines, providing scanning of the main lobe of the beam pattern in an arbitrary azimuthal direction in the entire SW-range.
EFFECT: high accuracy of forming the APAA beam pattern and high efficiency of its operation.
