FIELD: automatic control means.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of automatic identification of a railway wheel, is a technical solution related to means of automatic control and number accounting on railway transport. It can be used to obtain reliable information when identifying railway wheels. Casting mould is used, which repeats the shape of the groove in the railway wheel; tape with lock is placed in said mould and stretched; compound is poured into the mould and identification marks are laid; then, foil-coated antenna of each mark is bent to the metallized base of the mark; wherein the identification mark is located along the axis with the tape so that the mark chip is closer to the edge of the smallest side; after hardening, removing the formed fastening tape with the compound and marks from the mould; then fastening tape with compound and marks is installed in groove of railway wheel and its ends are fixed with lock. Identification marks used are radio-frequency RFID tags, the operating frequency of which with the applied layer of the compound is within range of 863-868 MHz.

EFFECT: elimination of the problem of impossibility of reading due to use of the compound and installation of a radio-frequency tag into a cavity.
