FIELD: organization and control of railway traffic.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to locomotive positioning means. In the method, the locomotive location relative to the railway infrastructure facilities is based on radio frequency identification using passive radio frequency UHF RFID tags, which, having received power from the UHF RFID receiving-transmitting antenna located on the locomotive, in the form of electromagnetic radiation, transmit a predetermined programmed code to the same receiving-transmitting antenna, which, in turn, is processed and checked for correctness in the UHF RFID signals receiving module with subsequent transmission to the train braking automatic control system, where is interpreted according to database table into location coordinate, wherein determination of coordinates begins to be performed when the correct sequence of codes is received from several tags installed at a certain distance, which protects against rearrangement of tags by an intruder, determination of location by coordinates of UHF RFID tag is carried out pointwise, at the moment of its passage by locomotive with further specification of location of locomotive by distance travelled from the tag, which is calculated based on information from path and speed sensors.
EFFECT: higher traffic safety.
