FIELD: electrical engineering; electric power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and power engineering, and specifically to methods for assessing the quality of electricity, and can be used in electrical networks and power supply systems to determine the location of sources of higher harmonics. Essence of the disclosed method consists in the possibility of determining the location of a distortion source in an alternating current electrical network containing distorting loads, a source of network voltage of both a sinusoidal and a different form, supply line with final value of internal active and reactive resistance and connected in parallel to consumers of electric energy, some part of which relates to the category of distorting loads with non-sinusoidal shape of current at the network input. Results of measurements of current and voltage of the controlled harmonic are used to determine the angle of phase shift between these parameters, as per the value of which it is possible to conclude that the source of the controlled harmonic is in the composition of the consumer. Impedance results are used to calculate the distance between the point of measurements and the point of switching on the distorting load.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of the method for detecting a source of higher harmonics – using it in power supply systems with power sources generating voltage with both sinusoidal and different from sinusoidal forms; easy implementation of the method, cost-effectiveness of the device for its implementation, possibility of using without interruption in power supply with sources of electric power generating voltage with both sinusoidal and other than sinusoidal forms.
