FIELD: radar and radio navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of determining coordinates of the location of a radio-frequency source. In the disclosed method, a direct radio signal emitted by a radio-frequency source and radio signals reflected from four spherical reflectors mounted on the ground are received. Difference in propagation time of direct and reflected from spherical reflectors signals is determined. Device for determining coordinates is placed in center of protected area, reflectors are placed in points on the terrain with known coordinates at the same distance from the central receiving unit and at the same distance between them. Values of coordinates of the radio-frequency source are calculated using signals of measuring pairs, each of which consists of two measuring bases. Multiple measurement pairs are formed, each of which consists only of adjacent measurement bases. Geometrical dilution of precision (GDOP) is calculated for each measurement pair and the measurement pair for which this value is the least is selected. Further, the values of coordinates of the radio-frequency source are calculated using the selected measurement pair.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining coordinates of a radio-frequency source.
