FIELD: radio engineering and communications.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering, particularly to radio monitoring systems for determining the position of radio-frequency sources (PCRFS) of the VHF-microwave bands of both digital and analog types of communication, information about which is not available in the database (for example, of the state radio frequency service). Basis of the method is the correlation principle, which consists in multiple measurement of the field strength of the desired RFS and bearing on it, applying the RCP with the log-periodic rotary antenna system (LRAS) and calculating the root-mean-square deviation of the bearing, as well as setting the coordinates of the location of n virtual posts (VP) at a distance of several angular minutes from the RFS, around the azimuth ray with the RCP in the RFS in the quadruple root-mean-square deviation of the bearing to the RFS, increasing the distances between the VP and approximating their locations (VP LOC) to the ray from the RCP at the RFS, as they move away from the RCP. Performing the calibration – for this purpose making a list of q base REEs is used based on the data base of the RCP used in the same sector of the tripled root-mean-square deviation of the bearing to the RFS, and calculating the field strength generated at the location of n VPs and RCPs by each of the q base REEs, according to their list. Choosing the appropriate numerical method for determining the coordinates of the RFS location (basic REE or the desired source). Calibrated coordinates of the desired RFS location are averaged over all combinations of multiplicative functions and fixed as the final coordinates of the desired radio frequency source location.
EFFECT: technical result is the PCRFS determination by a single radio control post (RCP).
