FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering, namely to devices for protection of oil-filled electrical devices and equipment, such as oil-filled transformers, autotransformers and reactors, for which gas relays of RGT series are used as protection, these are RGT 50 and RGT 80. Gas relay device comprises housing with inlet and outlet communicating with tank and expansion tank, through which the relay is filled with oil, and contact reacting unit containing sealed oil-tight cylinder with magnetic contact mechanisms inside. It also includes upper and lower floats with built-in magnets, guides in the form of rods for movement of floats up/down along surfaces of these guides and a sealed oil-tight cylinder, and a pressure plate with a magnet. On the surface of the floats there are projecting elements. First group of protruding elements is installed on the upper end of the upper float to make a gap between the surface area of the relay housing and the surface plane of the upper end of the upper float when the float is in the upper position. Second group of protruding elements is installed on sections of side surfaces of floats to make a gap between side surfaces of floats and surfaces of guides and to make a gap between side surfaces of floats and sealed oil-tight cylinder, wherein columns of oil insulation between surfaces are made with the dimensions of the thickness of oil insulation layers between surfaces and are limited by increased sizes of gaps equal to height of protruding elements to allow floats to float in oil insulation.

EFFECT: improving reliability and stability of high-quality operation of floats of the unit of contact reacting gas relay.
