FIELD: metallurgy; performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to refractory production and metallurgy. Method of melting crucible manufacturing includes its assembly from inner and outer shells and isothermal insert arranged between them. Isothermal insert is made in mould containing mesh frame, inner part of which follows contour and dimensions of inner cup of crucible, and finishing elements for formation of outer surface of isothermal insert. Mould is immersed in vessel with hydraulic mass, vacuum moulding is performed and produced insert is dried. Hydromass ingredients are taken in the following ratio, wt.%: 1.5-2.0 of mullite-silica fibre, 0-0.45 of refractory additive, 0.1-0.25 of binder, the rest is water. Isothermal insert fixes the internal cup in the external cup and is a heat-insulating gasket between them, which increases thermal stability of the crucible and protects the heating elements in case of the internal cup cracking.
EFFECT: increasing heat resistance and number of melts in furnaces.
