SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compression of point cloud attributes. For a point P to be encoded into a bit stream, a list of predictors of k point cloud predictors is determined, including points of the point cloud closest to the point P to be encoded, which are selected in accordance with their position relative to each other; and encoding point attributes associated with point P to be encoded by predictive coding based on attributes of predictor points from the list of predictors.
EFFECT: high efficiency of encoding and decoding point cloud attributes.
