FIELD: electric power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric power industry and can be used in two-transformer power supply systems for auxiliary needs of electric substations. In current single- or double-transformer mode, currents and voltages of each operating transformer are measured. Current losses and losses expected after change of current mode are calculated from measured currents and voltages. Mode change criterion is calculated as the difference between current losses and losses expected after the mode change. Calculated mode change criterion is compared with the preset setting. In case the setting is exceeded, the operating mode is changed – one of the transformers is taken out of operation or returned to operation.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of energy saving.
