FIELD: electric power industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the electric power industry, it can be used to compensate for the higher harmonics of the mains voltage using an active filter connected to the low-voltage buses of an electric substation that supplies powerful nonlinear loads (for example, traction substations) that distort the shape of the mains voltage and, thereby, reduce the quality of electricity. The instantaneous values of the mains voltage, the active filter current, and the current in the controlled connection are measured. The higher harmonics of the measured currents are selected. The setpoint current vector is calculated in the dq coordinate system for each selected harmonic. The calculated vectors are converted to instantaneous current values. The current of the total setpoint of the active filter is formed. Control actions on the active filter are formed, based on the mismatch of its current and the current of the total setpoint. The setpoint current vector of each harmonic before converting to instantaneous current values is rotated by the phase angle between the derivatives of the vectors of the corresponding harmonic of the measured currents.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is an increase in the stability of operation of the active filter of higher harmonic compensation connected to the power grid and a corresponding increase in the quality of electricity.
