FIELD: bioinformatics.
SUBSTANCE: described is a method for decoding animal behaviour using a temporary colour coding method, which includes placing laboratory animals in recording chambers, recording video data for each animal, characterized in that objects and background are separated for a number of frames, determining the centre of mass of each animal for each spatial position that it occupies, and automatically generating a tracking window for the area around this centre, determining the position of the animal in the recording chamber in a row of frames, performing colour RGB coding of images, and combining information from a number of frames, wherein the frame selection step is 80 ms, and the duration of the generalized period is 640 ms.
EFFECT: accumulated marked data are used to train artificial intelligence modules, which are further used for automatic decoding of animal behaviour.
