FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery, and can be used for colon stump examination. Computed tomography (CT) with contrast enhancement of colon stump is performed. For colonic stump contrasting, atmospheric air is used at room temperature, which is introduced into patient’s anal opening until reflex air retention is terminated. CT is performed at initial densities, units. N: colon stumps - from minus 950 to minus 960, pelvic bones - from 400 to 1200 and initial density of filled bladder - from 10 to 15. Obtained images are converted into 3D reconstruction of the contrasted intestinal stump.

EFFECT: method provides reduction of examination time and elimination of allergic reactions in the patient due to CT with atmospheric air contrast enhancement.
