SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nanotechnology, nanomaterials, nanostructures, elements of nanoelectronics and nanophotonics. Quantum-dimensional nanocrystal is a semiconductor material in the form of a monocrystal limited by nanodimensions, which is made by colloidal synthesis. Synthesized nanocrystal has the following properties: self-organization during colloidal synthesis and states of an electron injected into it. Dimensions of nanocrystal an in all crystallographic directions are limited by ratio: , where h is Planck's constant, q is the quantum number, m is the effective mass of the electron in the semiconductor material, is the energy of the electron in the nanocrystal, which is caused by the voltage drop across it and its absorption of external radiation. Dimensions of the nanocrystal are also determined by the ratios of colloidal synthesis conditions: a*≤an≤ga0(Hvol/Ec), where: a0 is the nanocrystal lattice constant, Hvol is the nanocrystal volumetric energy, Ec is the nanocrystal surface energy, a* is the nanocrystal nucleus critical size, determined experimentally by electron microscopy methods, g is the nanocrystal lattice geometry parameter equal to 6 for cubic system.
