SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication technologies and, in particular, to a method and a device for determining the time of use of a beam indicated by another carrier. By means of terminal device performing: reception of downlink control information (DCI) based on physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) of the first carrier, wherein the DCI is used to indicate a beam corresponding to a predetermined resource on the second carrier; transmitting indication information, which is used to indicate the DCI reception state; and determining, according to the moment of transmitting the indication information, the time of use of the beam corresponding to the assigned resource. Thus, the terminal device and the network device can maintain a consistent understanding of the beam usage time indicated by the other carrier.

EFFECT: providing beam consistency, reducing the effect on data transmission and improving beam-based transmission characteristics.
