SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to surgical instruments, namely to a cartridge and to a surgical stapler. Cartridge used for a surgical stapler comprises a stapling tape, a support member, a cover and a starting member. Stapling tape comprises a base extending in the axial direction of the stapler, and more than one staples connected with the possibility of rotation to the stapling tape through connecting parts. Base of the stapling tape is made with possibility of installation on one side of the support element and has the first surface remote from the support element. Cover at least partially covers the first surface of the base of the stapling tape. Cartridge cover has a second surface facing the first surface of the stapling tape base. First gap is formed between the first surface of the base of the stapling tape and the second surface of the cartridge cover. Starting element is movable in the lower part of the cartridge cover and is movable in the axial direction. Starting element comprises cutting part. Highest point of the cutting part is higher than the first surface of the base of the stapling tape in the direction of height. Highest point of the cutting part of the starting element rests against the second surface of the cartridge cover. Cutting part is made with possibility of contact with connecting parts and with possibility of cutting with separation of connecting parts from base of stapling tape, with corresponding separation of staples from base of stapling tape. Surgical stapler comprises said cartridge.

EFFECT: using the group of inventions is characterized by the fact that the cutting part more easily separates the staples from the stapling tape.
