FIELD: veterinary science; poultry farming.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to poultry farming and veterinary medicine, can be used in organization of cultivation of chukar partridge in conditions of industrial production, small forms of management, as well as nurseries. Method of fixation of chukar during weighing consists in the fact that bird is placed on scales with its back down, head is fixed in direction of body axis with beak upwards, covered with hand to limit view of bird. At the same time contact to head is excluded in order to avoid failure of readings of scales, legs are pulled along axis of body, wings are pressed to body. After the bird has calmed down, covering the head of the bird with the hand, the legs are gradually released and the live weight of the bird is recorded.
EFFECT: invention allows avoiding the use of auxiliary means when weighing chukar partridge, as well as reducing the time spent on determining live weight by 35.6%.
