FIELD: obtaining oil from wells.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil industry, in particular, to compositions and methods for treatment of drilling muds and grouting mortars in order to suppress foaming and destruction of already formed foam. According to one version of the invention, the antifoaming composition contains a heavy pyrolysis resin and an active additive, wherein the active additive is oleic acid, stearic acid or a mixture thereof. According to the second version of the invention, the antifoaming composition contains diesel fuel or gasoline fraction of oil as a hydrocarbon solvent and an active additive in the form of oleic acid. Method of reducing foam formation in drilling or grouting mud involves adding said compositions to drilling mud and grouting mortar to suppress foaming and destruction of already formed foam.
EFFECT: said compositions provide foam damping and prevention of foaming in drilling muds and grouting mortars using available and compatible substances as components.
