FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of cobalt ferrite powder and can be used in electronics and telecommunication equipment. In a chamber pre-evacuated and filled with a gas mixture of oxygen and argon using a coaxial magnetoplasma accelerator with a cylindrical electroconductive shaft made of steel and a composite central electrode consisting of a tip made of steel and a shank made of brass, arc discharge and electric discharge plasma are generated at charging voltage of 2.5 kV of capacitor bank with capacity of 14.4 mF. Between the cylindrical electroconductive shaft of the accelerator and the tip of the central electrode, an electrically fusible link of compacted cobalt powder is preliminarily placed. Arc discharge is initiated between the tip of the central electrode and the cylindrical electroconductive shaft during discharge of the capacitor battery with provision of the plasma-chemical oxidative reaction of ionized iron and cobalt in the medium of the gas mixture with formation of cobalt ferrite powder CoFe2O4.
EFFECT: obtaining powder with high saturation magnetisation.
