SUBSTANCE: invention relates to telecommunication and communication systems and can be used to transmit discrete data over a wireless radio communication channel. Method for wireless data transmission over a millimetre and/or submillimetre band radio channel consists in transmitting data at a constant rate from a transmitter to a diversity receiver with optimal addition of diversity branches M at moments in time, when γ>γt, where γ and γt is the instantaneous and threshold value of the signal-to-noise ratio, respectively. γt is determined from a mathematical expression: γt=k⋅γ0, where γ0 is the average value of the signal-to-noise ratio, k is the multiplicity parameter, the value of which is selected from the condition: 2≤k≤4 with the number of spacing branches M=4. Receiver antenna elevation angle ϕ is selected from the condition: 90°≥ϕ≥14.3°.

EFFECT: high noise-immunity of data transmission while simultaneously reducing power consumption of the transmitter.
