FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention improves quality of restoration of lichen cover of degraded reindeer pastures in the Arctic. Method for restoration of the lichen cover of degraded reindeer pastures involves preparation of a composition consisting of crushed diatomite, clay and lichen thallus by mixing crushed components and applying it on the soil surface. Crushed diatomite used is diatomite with particle size of 4 to 10 mm. Milled lichen thallus is represented by lichen thallus with size of fractions of not more than 10 mm. Clay with fraction size of up to 10 mm is used as clay. Components of the composition are mixed at the following ratio, wt.% (volume percent by dry weight): ground diatomite – 20 to 30%, ground clay – 20 to 30%, ground lichen thallus – the rest. Then, water is added to ensure the moisture content of the composition of components of 30-40%, the composition of components with a granule size of not more than 10 mm is granulated by passing through a sieve with a cell size of not more than 10 mm, drying at positive temperature not higher than 40 °C with residual moisture content not lower than 10%, after which granules are applied on soil surface of reindeer pasture. In addition, reindeer pasture soil harrowing is performed to a depth of not more than 10 cm.

EFFECT: improving the quality of restoration of the lichen cover of degraded reindeer pastures in the Arctic due to the fact that the granular mineral complex of diatomite and clay with the addition of crushed lichen is used as a prolonged action fertilizer, having the ability to restore soil in the form of a lichen cover of degraded reindeer pastures in the Arctic on content of microelements, increase crop capacity and quality.
