SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biometrics, in particular to identification of a person by an image of his/her hand. Palm vein pattern recognition system comprises a palm image reader in communication with a remote processing device. Palm image reading device comprises: lighting means configured to irradiate the palm with infrared radiation; palm imaging means; palm parameter determination means; correction means; means of transmitting image data to a remote processing device. Remote processing device comprises a palm recognition facility and an identification and access facility. Palm recognition means is configured to simulate an image of a palm with a modified vein pattern at low temperatures for training the neural network and recognizing the palm vein pattern by the trained neural network at low temperatures.

EFFECT: high accuracy and speed of identifying a person from an image of his/her hand at low temperatures.
