SUBSTANCE: invention relates to recognition of biometric templates related to a person in images or video data, in particular to identification of a person by an image of his/her face and palm. System for user identification comprises a device for reading an image of the face and palm of the user and an image processing device. User is identified if the accuracy of face recognition exceeds a predetermined first threshold. If the recognition reliability is lower than the predetermined first threshold, but higher than the predetermined second threshold, the user is recognized by the palm, wherein the palm temperature is taken into account when recognizing the palm. Decision is made on the impossibility of identifying the user if the reliability of face recognition is below a predetermined second threshold.
EFFECT: high accuracy and speed of human identification.
