SUBSTANCE: invention relates to development and creation of innovative types of nuclear fuel. Method of producing anticorrosion mixed uranium-plutonium nitride nuclear fuel, in which uranium and plutonium oxides and graphite powder are used as initial materials. O/U ratio in the powder containing uranium oxide UO2 is controlled successively. Gases are removed from the powders in high-purity argon atmosphere. Powders of uranium and plutonium oxides and graphite are weighed to ensure the required molar ratio C/(0.8UO2+0.2PuO2)=2.5. Powders are mechanically mixed in a ball mill into briquettes with diameter from 6 to 15 mm. Carbothermal reduction is carried out in a vacuum-compressor furnace at temperature of 1,823 K for 10 hours in a flow of a mixture of N2 + 8% H2. Produced briquettes are ground in a ball mill, binder is added in form of 0.25 wt.% of polyethylene glycol at pressure of 200-400 MPa, followed by pressing the powder into tablets. At the stage of grinding briquettes, or after grinding, or when adding a binder, silicon impurities are added in amount of 0.5-1.0 wt.%.

EFFECT: invention provides reduction of corrosion damages in cladding of fuel elements.
