FIELD: nuclear fuel technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing mixed (U, Pu) oxide nuclear MOX fuel from gallium-alloyed arms plutonium. Method of preparing mixed (U, Pu)O2 oxide nuclear fuel from arms plutonium oxide (W-PuO2) containing impurities, in particular gallium, comprises: (a) preparing MOX fuel tablets comprising following steps: (a1) first mixing of W-PuO2 powder processed by dry technology method and/or UO2 powder, and/or MOX scrap processed by dry technology method; (a2) micronization and forced screening of that first mixture; (a3) second mixing and stirring of micronized and screened mixture with uranium oxide powder; (a4) adding and admixing lubrication material and/or pore-forming substance; (a5) pelletization of this mixed second mixture; (a6) caking of pellets obtained; (b) dry processing of W-PuO2 powder comprising following steps: (b1) mixing W-PuO2 powder with at least one of uranium oxide powder and MOX scrap undergone dry processing; (b2) micronization of resulting mixture; (b3) pelletization of this micronized mixture; (b4) heat treatment of the pellets in reductive medium, said pellets, after their crushing, being mixed in the first mixing used in above-mentioned pelletization of MOX fuel; and (c) dry mixing of MOX scrap comprising following steps: (c1) mixing MOX scrap powder and/or crushed MOX scrap pellets; (c2) micronization of resulting mixture; (c3) pelletization of this micronized mixture; (c4) heat treatment of the pellets destined, after their crushing, to be mixed in the first mixing involved in pelletization of MOX fuel. Method according to invention can be used when fulfilling programs on nuclear weapon limitation by way of burying excessive reserves of arms plutonium.
EFFECT: facilitated useful way of arms plutonium disposal.
