FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of surface investigation with a slit hyperspectral sensor of remote probing, in particular – to correction of geometrical distortions of images formed in conditions of angular oscillations of the sensor carrier by roll. Method of correcting geometric distortions of hyperspectral images consists in obtaining a sequence of lines of a scanning sensor and recording them in a memory device. At the same time synchronously with production of i-th image lines values of roll angle γi are obtained, using which the number of displacement pixels is determined. For this, for each j-th pixel of each i-th line, calculating the tangent tj of the angular direction Δφj to it, forming a matrix of corrections with the elements values of indexes of columns j+Δji,j are calculated taking into account correction and one-dimensional interpolation of values of brightness in direction of movement along columns along a line is performed.

EFFECT: high accuracy of hyperspectral images due to reduced error in correcting images of objects located not in the centre of the frame.
