SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal cutting devices, primarily, to production of band saw blades and may be used in machining of metals and composites. Tooth of band saw blade for metal comprises cutting edge, which is made in the form of a broken line in the plane of the rear surface of the tooth and within its width with the formation of links of the cutting edge and the faceted front surface.
EFFECT: longer life of saw blade on metal and its teeth, reduced deformation and blunting of teeth.
