FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to anaesthesiology and resuscitation, neonatology and paediatrics. Diaphragm electrical activity is monitored in NAVA mode. If the NAVA support level is less than 0.5 cm H2O/mcV and the electric signal of the diaphragm is from 6.0 mcV to 12.5 mcV, the child is transferred to spontaneous breathing. If the electrical activity of the diaphragm is less than 6.0 mcV or more than 12.5 mcV, artificial pulmonary ventilation is continued.
EFFECT: method enables providing the patient with optimal and effective respiratory support and reducing the length of staying in the intensive care unit by reading the electrical activity of the diaphragm.
