SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for assessing clinical effectiveness in treating pneumonia in the newborns with very low birth body weight (VLBBW) and extremely low birth body weight (ELBBW). That is ensured by progressive analysis of a biological material to determine necrobiotic/necrotic alveolocytes in the pharyngeal aspirate. If observing no changes or any reduction of the alveolocyte count in relation to the reference level, treatment is considered to be effective, while an increase of the alveolocyte count shows ineffective treatment.
EFFECT: method enables correcting the therapeutic measures in good time, improving the clinical course of the disease, avoiding painful and traumatic blood sampling procedures in the newborns.
