FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and concerns a method for early prediction of developing neonatal pneumonia in premature infants with extremely low body weight (ELBW) and very low body weight (VLBW) based on laboratory data using mathematical modelling, where at birth of a child in umbilical blood, a percentage of phagocytic neutrophilic granulocytes, CD282+CD14+ monocytes is determined using flow cytometry taking into account the gestational age of the child and subsequent calculation of the prognostic index (PI) by formula.
EFFECT: invention provides more effective prediction of developing neonatal pneumonia in premature infants with extremely low and low body weight up to 93.75 %.
