FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular to hydroponic methods of growing perennial plants, and can be used for growing thyme in protected ground. Method involves preparation of seeds for sowing and sowing in pots with mineral wool substrate, growing with periodic cuts of plants in a two-tier hydroponic plant with periodic flooding when using an aqueous nutrient solution with a total concentration of 1 g/l of complex fertilizers with trace elements and calcium nitrate, supplied three times day for 15 minutes, electroconductivity 0.8-2.0 mS/cm, pH 5.5-6.5. Cultivation is carried out under optimal conditions for growing thyme culture: air temperature +22...+25 °C, temperature of nutrient solution +20…+22 °C, air humidity 55-65%, 16-hour light mode. Lighting is carried out with white diodes with light flux 8000 lm, colour temperature 4000 K, PPFD 165 mcmol/s/m2 or a combination of red, blue and white diodes in ratio 2:1:2, with dominant wavelength of red spectrum 625 nm, blue spectrum 470 nm, light flux 6600 lm, PPFD 143 mcmol/s/m2.

EFFECT: increase of raw biomass per 1 m2 under conditions of hydroponic cultivation in comparison with cultivation under conditions of open ground, as well as increased content of some valuable components of essential oil.
