FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of agriculture, in particular to protected ground vegetable growing. In the method, lettuce seeds are sown in mineral wool cubes with volume of 64 cm3 and grown under hydroponic conditions for 35 days at a daytime temperature of +25 °C, at night +23 °C, photoperiod of 18 hours. During the entire vegetation period, plants are irradiated with light with a spectral composition having emission maxima in the blue part in region of 455 nm, in the red part – 655 nm, adding to the spectrum a band of far red light in region of 735 nm, with a photon flux density at level of 5 cm from the surface of a cube of mineral wool of 160 mcmol⋅m-2⋅s-1.

EFFECT: method provides higher nutritional value of products due to intensification of biosynthesis of biologically active substances – anthocyanins in biomass of grown plants.
