SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of producing ceramics and can be used to improve the thermal characteristics of articles. Crude mixture for making wall ceramic materials includes clay, thermal power plant flue ash and contains an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol grade 16/1, at the following ratio, wt. %: clay 19-28.5, TPP flue ash 70-80, aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol grade 16/1 in conversion to dry powder 1-1.5. Method of producing wall ceramic materials includes drying of flue ash of thermal power plant, drying and grinding of clay, subsequent mixing of fly ash of thermal power plant with 5-10 wt. % of dry ground clay, moistening the mixture to moulding moisture content of 8-12 %, granulation with subsequent powdering with the remaining part of dry clay until a shell is formed around the granules, semi-dry pressing and firing of the articles. To obtain granules, a mixture of flue ash and dry ground clay is moistened with an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol grade 16/1 for 3-5 minutes, then moistened mass is supplied to screw extruder, and produced threads after extrusion through its perforated grid are crushed in mixer-granulator during 1-2 minutes into fragments.

EFFECT: reduction of average density and improvement of thermotechnical characteristics of wall ceramic materials.
