FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing isophorone, which consists in the fact that acetone is condensed in a liquid phase in the presence of sodium alkali and water with a molar ratio of acetone to water equal to 0.76:1, characterized by that the reaction mass is fed into microcapillary channels made from stainless steel with an inner diameter of 0.1 to 1 mm at temperature of 165 to 185 °C and flow rate of 0.5 ml/min.
EFFECT: present invention provides an increase in the isophorone yield of the reaction, as well as simplification of the synthesis process and low heating temperature.
