FIELD: food industry.

SUBSTANCE: method of producing a powder preparation containing serotonin, involving grinding of raw materials, extraction thereof, filtration and further drying, characterized by that the raw material used is leaves, or a mixture of branches and bark, or a mixture of leaves, branches and bark of sea buckthorn, collected in March-April, with moisture content of 0.318-4.34% and hygroscopicity of 94.5-97.5%, raw material is ground, sieved through a sieve to particles with size of not more than 1.4 mm, extraction is carried out with water three times for 13 minutes at a ratio of raw material to extractant of 1:20, 1:30 and 1:50 at room temperature, the liquid extract obtained at each stage is filtered, then all extracts are combined into one and dried by sublimation under vacuum of 5 hPa and at temperature of 60 °C for 4 hours 15 minutes.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a powder preparation with a serotonin content of 1.9-9.5 wt.% on dry substance.
