METHOD OF CREATING LASER DIODE MODULE Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC G02B27/09 H01S5/40

Abstract RU 2835779 C1

FIELD: diode lasers.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diode lasers in which radiation from several chips is fed into an optical fibre. Method of creating a laser diode module is characterized by the fact that a lens is mounted on a submount on an integrated microcircuit which collimates the laser beam along a fast axis. On the submount, integrated microcircuits with a lens are soldered onto the optical board. Lenses collimating the laser beam along the slow axis are mounted on the optical board. Optical fibre and lenses are installed on the lens board, which focus radiation along the fast and slow axis into the fibre. Boards are soldered into the housing of the laser diode module at a temperature lower than the melting point of the solder for soldering the integrated microcircuits on the submount to the optical boards. Microcircuits are connected to each other by an electrical contact. On the optical boards, mirrors are installed, the angle of which is selected with the possibility of increasing the optical power introduced into the optical fibre. Angles of the mirrors are shifted from the optimum position so as to compensate for the deterioration of optical power input into the fibre, which is caused by the distortion of the module when the cover is installed on it. Module is sealed and cover is installed.

EFFECT: possibility of replacing faulty elements without deterioration of thermal contact of integrated microcircuits.
