FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydroacoustics and geoinformation technologies. It can be used to design detection systems and, in particular, to increase the accuracy of determining objects in the coastal zone. Disclosed is a sonar method for detecting objects, in which after emitting a probing signal at time , where t1 is the moment of time of signal emission, Dnear is distance to nearest point of coastal line, C is speed of sound in water, operation of receiving path is stopped for time
, and its operation is resumed at moment of time
, where Dfar is the distance to the far point of the coastline, and the values of Dnear and Dfar are determined by using a priori known data on distances to the coast and depths from geoinformation systems.
EFFECT: reduced noise at the input of a receiver in conditions of sonar detection of an object in a coastal zone.
