FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to chemical industry. To obtain hydrogen and carbon nanofibres, catalytic pyrolysis of light hydrocarbons is carried out. Raw material preliminarily purified from catalytic poisons and mechanical impurities and heated to 500-750 °C, is fed into a fluidised bed reactor, where a catalyst containing transition metals of the iron subgroup, with granule size from 0.1 to 3 mm, is also continuously fed. Reaction takes place at temperature of 500-750 °C and pressure from 1 to 10 atm. Raw material used is methane, natural gas, associated petroleum gas or a mixture of propane and technical butane. Catalyst is fed above a perforated grid with a hole size of not more than 0.09 mm, which is located in the lower part of the reactor. Raw material is fed below the perforated screen. Catalyst, overgrown with carbon material during reaction, is lowered under its own weight onto perforated grid, which is part of carbon product unloading system, where carbon material is unloaded. Hydrogen formed during the reaction and unreacted raw material are sent for separation. Hydrogen is removed as a product, and unreacted raw material is recycled for preliminary heating and again supplied to the reactor. Invention also discloses an apparatus for producing hydrogen and carbon fibres.
EFFECT: group of inventions increases efficiency of hydrogen and carbon nanofibres.
