POLYCENTRIC KNEE JOINT FOR ARTIFICIAL LEGS Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC A61F2/64 A61F2/50

Abstract RU 2836536 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: polycentric knee assembly for artificial legs comprises an upper monolithic support with an attachment plane for rigid attachment to a hip stump, a support monolithic base with an attachment plane for an ankle prosthesis, a frame, a frame reinforcement, a main lever, a small lever, a rocker, a shock absorber, a spacer and a bushing. Said rocker is hinged to frames. Frames are hinged to lateral parts of said upper support. Said support base is hinged to lower parts of said frames. Frame reinforcement, spacer and bushing are rigidly mounted to frames by fixed connection. Main lever is hinged to the rocker and the upper support. Upper support is made with attachment of the main lever for two positions, where the shock absorber is mounted to the bushing and the rocker by a hinge joint, and the small lever is mounted to the rocker and the support base by a hinge joint. Rocker is made in the form of a monolithic part. Shock absorber is made with possibility of adjustment. Angle between the lower edge of the frames and the plane of attachment of the shin prosthesis to the support base is in range of 22° up to 26°. Upper support can change its inclination angle during user sitting. During user sitting, the main lever can act on the rocker so that the attachment point of the rocker to the main lever is lowered, and the attachment point of the rocker and the shock absorber rod rises. Shock absorber rod can enter the shock absorber body during user sitting. Small lever can push the support base while the user is sitting with an increase in the angle between the attachment plane of the upper support and the attachment plane of the support base.

EFFECT: invention provides higher stability of the user when bending the polycentric knee assembly, as well as higher strength of the polycentric knee assembly.
