FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, particularly to dentistry, maxillofacial surgery, and can be used to predict the risk of periodontitis. Method consists in determining the total calcium level in the patient’s blood serum and the oral hygiene index by the Fyodorov-Volodkina method. Bioimpedance analysis is used to calculate body fat and musculoskeletal mass. After determining said parameters, calculating the probability of developing periodontitis by the presented mathematical formula. If probability is 60% and more, a high risk of periodontitis is stated.
EFFECT: method is simple, accessible, allows calculating an individual prediction of the risk of periodontitis.
