SUBSTANCE: diagnosing activity of the inflammatory process in ensured by periodontium examination of the concentration of oral sICAM-1 molecules. If the concentration values fall within 5 ng/ml or less, no pathologies are diagnosed; the concentration being within 5.5-6.9 ng/ml shows mild periodontitis, within 7-9.9 ng/ml - moderate periodontitis; and severe periodontitis is shown by the values exceeding 10 ng/ml.

EFFECT: use of the invention enables the objective assessment of a degree of severity of periodontitis and provides a non-invasive method.
